Christmas was an absolute blast this year. We celebrated Jesus’s birth, worshiped at a wonderful Christmas Eve service, visited family, attended Christmas parties, sang Christmas songs, saw Christmas lights, watched Christmas shows, made sugar cookies, drank hot chocolate, opened presents, and ate a ton of food. Christmas is full of traditions and although it might seem really busy (because it most definitely is) it’s truly the most wonderful time of the year. There is so much hope and love in every moment.
There is so much I want to post about our Christmas and there are so many great pictures to share. Let us start with the stars of this blog, Addie Pearl and Miles.
This is the first Christmas that Addie Pearl really enjoyed. She now understands the joy of getting presents (I would say the joy of getting and giving but her 2 year old brain is really focused on the getting) and it’s really hard to explain that it’s over. There are no more presents and she cannot eat as many peanut M&M’s as she wants. It’s very hard for a 2 year old to understand this. It’s hard for me as a 30 year old to understand why I can’t constantly eat peanut M&M’s, too! AP truly enjoyed Christmas and everyday since it has been over she tells me that we need a new tree and a new Christmas. It is great to see her be able to think back to something that has happened and remember enough to want it to happen again.
Miles was overwhelmed, tired, and growing a tooth this Christmas. Pretty much what you can expect from a 7 month old. All he wanted for Christmas was that dang tooth. And after a week of pain it has now arrived! My sweet boy has his first tooth! There were moments of greatness with Miles which you will see in the pictures. I’m not going to repost the picture I put up the other day but if you have not seen it you should look at my last post. Miles received some great gifts that he has been enjoying already. By that I mean if I give him one of the toys he will immediately put it in his mouth to chew on. The only other exciting thing Miles did this week was get up on his hands and knees, which means crawling is going to happen soon. Two mobile babies!! Yikes!!
Mommy and Daddy!!!
Gavin and I had a great Christmas as well. He gave me a diamond necklace and I gave him a leather messenger bag. There were also other little things like some books and a wallet that came with a warning saying it might contain carcinogens (whoops!!). It was great because we got to spend time with our kids, have some relaxing time together, and we also got some time to enjoy things that we love. The last couple of pictures just show how happy we are to have our little family and how the Lord has truly blessed us. I need to store up these memories and pictures in my mind so that on the hard days (and there will always be hard days) I will remember the Lord’s blessings to us.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!!!
